Customer service has become something of a forgotten talent. Many people forego the phone in favor of emailing their questions or complaints.

There are very few people reading this article who have even thought about offering their customers a way to contact them by phone. That doesn't mean, however, that there aren't things you can do to make sure that your customer management is up to snuff. Never lie to your customers. There are times when you will get a customer on the phone, or who is sending you e-mails, that are just annoying. You might want to tell them anything just to get rid of them, even if it is not true. Avoid this if at all possible. A customer will know when you're lying. If you lie one time, you'll probably do it again, catering to the whims of the customer. Customer demands are not easy to satisfy. You may find yourself trying to invent something just to satisfy them. What's most important though is that you don't lie.
