Who doesn't love a bargain, right? With the summer slowly but surely ending , me and my partner found ourselves looking for a short weekend getaway from the noisy, busy city.

Looking for a place on the beautiful Central coast small enough to offer stunning , unspoilt beaches and nature all around but big enough to offer a decent choice of restaurants and cafes to spoil even the picky foodie, we chose Port Macquarie. With all the wineries , beautiful unspoilt National Parks, forests and kilometres of pristine beaches you can do coastal walks, surfing, sail boarding, swimming , fishing, whale watching and even horse rides .

We started searching for good deals in Port Macquarie , looking for a comfortable 4 to 5 star hotel or a self contained apartment ideally with a complimentary breakfast included we expected to have to pay a pretty amount for our break only to be quite surprised by the selection of options available. Whether you're preparing a quick stopover a weekend break or a decent holiday, there are options and packages to suit any taste or preference .

Starting with a one day bed & breakfast offer for around $160 per night in a luxury hotel room to a special couples deal including a spa bath, breakfast, wifi & security parking for little over $200 a night!

To sum it all up , our search for Port Macquarie accommodation deals left us very pleasantly surprised on the range, quality, level of comfort and also pricing of the local accommodation deals and having chosen a "Couples Retreat" deal for a 3 night stay in mid March we had a great time and found our new favourite weekend getaway location.
