How Bloggers Can Regularly Evaluate Themselves - Tips for Pro Internet Marketers

Almost every Internet Marketer understands the importance of blogging. Beginners to all of this really are looking at a serious learning curve which is a definite challenge. If you want your blog to really shine, then look beyond making terrific content - you just have to do that. Every so often you need to give your blog a "check up" and set some goals for yourself, and you can do this once every few months or even once a year. You will need to be very clear about the scope and purpose of your blog, and only then will you figure out what should be done.

Are you aware of whom your most important readers are? It is in your best interest to find out. Every blogger has some number one fans (readers) that they write for. The fundamental principles here are that you envision the exact person you wish to sell to. You need to find out the sex and age of the person, what kind of humor amuses them, how much schooling they have, what they do for work and so on and so on. You don't necessarily have to know this individual before you blog. It can just be some imaginary ideal to which you are aspiring to sell. Write all of your content as if you were writing to that person. If you want to nurture a precise audience, this will help to make sure that you do just that.

Your readers should only be asked to take one form of action. Asking them to do a whole bunch of different things will just be confusing. Are you trying to build up your list? Do you want to get a lot of comments? Are you advertising a product you want them to buy in your sidebar?

Do you want your readers to go through your blog to your sales page? Do not try to do all of these things at once. Choose one of them and let your blog reflect that choice. Your readers should be able to tell exactly what you want them to do from the moment they land on your page. The more you ask of them the less likely they will be to do any of it.

Obviously you already have a few social media profiles. If nothing else, you've probably got a Twitter and/or a Facebook account. It's also likely that you have signed up for sites like LinkedIn, Digg and Reddit--and a few others. Make sure you put up buttons for those accounts on a prominent place on your blog.

This tells your readers that it's easy to follow you on all of those accounts. Remember, you want your readers to feel as connected to you as possible and if you hide your social media accounts, they won't be able to do that. What this means, then, is that selling to them will be much more difficult.

You cannot escape the fact that you need to stay focused on what you are trying to do. You cannot allow yourself to get lazy with things, and this applies to content and other things. You need to make good application about what you read, and this is a good place to begin we think.
